The pregnant woman was caught getting frisky in a hospital bed while she was waiting for her baby to be induced
A cleaner at St. Michael's Hospital in Bristol heard strange moaning sounds coming from a private room on the maternity ward.
Deciding to investigate, she was left speechless when she walked in on a heavily pregnant woman and her husband having sex while waiting for their baby to be induced.
Reporting the incident to hospital staff, the cleaner was informed that having sex in a hospital bed isn't actually against the rules at St. Michael's.
In fact, bosses actually encourage partners to simply put a 'do not disturb' sign on the door if they're feeling frisky and want to get physical.
A source told The Sun: "Other patients on the unit heard the commotion and were upset. The cleaner was utterly shocked.
"She was amazed to be told it was OK. The hospital's advice appears to be just to put a sign up — amazing."
A hospital spokeswoman said: "Staff work hard to ensure privacy and dignity is maintained for all patients.
"Thankfully, we have not received any complaints or concerns in regard to this matter."
Sex is considered a natural way to induce labour. It triggers the release of oxytocin, a hormone that causes contractions. Having an orgasm could also stimulate your womb to get labour going.
Medical practitioners advise that you do not, however, have sex after your waters have broken, as it can cause infection.
